Academic Advising Unit
The Academic Advising Unit is a distinguished and forward-looking Unit dedicated to delivering high-quality advising services that support the development of students’ diverse abilities and skills. It seeks to enhance students’ academic, personal, and professional competencies, while providing targeted support to students experiencing academic difficulties, outstanding students, and students with special needs. The Unit offers tailored guidance aligned with students’ individual needs and interests, with the aim of maximizing their potential, strengthening their skills, and fostering excellence and creativity.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Orienting and welcoming new students on their first day of study, and familiarizing them with the colleges’ regulations, policies, and the academic environment.
  • Assisting students in selecting appropriate majors in line with their abilities, academic interests, and labor market needs.
  • Maintaining individual student records, explaining college policies and regulations, and clarifying students’ rights, responsibilities, and graduation requirements.
  • Advising and guiding students in course selection in accordance with the academic plan to achieve optimal learning outcomes.
  • Supporting students in developing their course schedules to ensure timely completion of graduation requirements within the maximum allowed period.
  • Monitoring students experiencing academic difficulties and supporting them in overcoming challenges and achieving academic success.
  • Providing assistance to students in addressing difficulties through coordination and collaboration with college administration, and proposing appropriate solutions.
  • Fostering effective communication with students, listening to their concerns, involving them in planning their academic pathways, and leveraging their experiences to help them overcome obstacles during their studies.
  • Facilitating communication with academic advisors via email or during designated office hours.
